Welcome to EverythingTess’s first blog income report for June 2025. To clarify: this is not the first month that this blog has made money, but it is the first month I started to take this blog as serious as my current full-time job. And as a result, this is the first month where I’m seeing the effort put in, generate some revenue as output.
A little background: I’ve been blogging on and off since I’ve been in high school (~2015), a.k.a. more often not blogging. There’s been ups and downs, name changes, different interests, my domain lost to a random Chinese company and gained back again! Even though I stopped actively blogging, I never stopped learning about blogging and what other blogs were doing to be successful.
Jump to November 2024 where I decided I wanted to blog again. I wanted to have a creative outlet that could provide some relief from my stressful job as well as make a few pennies on the side. I slowly started to plan what I wanted to do, how I wanted to do it, and decided I would blog about cooking/meal prepping/recipes. I was already spending a lot of time on that so might as well share what I’m doing. Plus, I love being creative in the kitchen and sharing what I cook with the people I value in my life. Now, this would be a way to share what I create online.
Why Am I Sharing?
I am sharing this blog income report for a few reasons. One of those is to be transparent and show a realistic view of what a small, starting out blog can earn. It can be easy to get caught up in the razzle dazzle of “I made thirty thousand in a month” posts, but those blogs are also well established.
I thought it would be interesting to provide an insight of the steps I’m taking with a new blog. Another reason is simply because I enjoy reading others’ blogs income reports and maybe someone will enjoy reading mine. Lastly, I think it will be fun to see how the blog grows and changes over time.
Monthly Goals
As my web plan was renewing, I decided to upgrade to the Business plan on WordPress. I wanted to be able to install plug ins and add videos to my posts (eventually)! Plus, the extra $300 spent will make me focus on the blog as I do not want that money spent to go to waste.
I updated my About Me page to be relevant. This will probably get a few more updates in the future.
I joined a new ad network: Ezoic Ads. It took about two weeks to get signed on with them but so far, it’s far better than my current ad network: Word Ads. In the first two days of having Ezoic, I’ve made more than what it took to make in a month with Word Ads.
I didn’t quite meet my posting goal of publishing 3 posts (I posted one recipe and a privacy policy page) but now that I have the basics set up, that’ll be the focus for July.

June Pageviews and Income
This month I received 1,343 pageviews.
Visitors: 559
Total number of posts published: 9 posts.
This is the highest amount of pageviews I’ve received in one month so far! Last month, I received 1,254 pageviews. The views per visitor went up from 1.17 to 2.40! What this shows me is that the people who are viewing my website are also clicking other posts once they are here.
Word Ads: 0.07
Ezoic Ads: 1.08
Income for June 2025: $1.15!
However, the true income earned for this month is: $0.00! I can’t cash out until I meet minimum payment thresholds. So, there’s actually $0.00 hitting my bank account.
Next Month’s Goals
For July 2025: I want to focus on creating more posts. I’ve been experimenting with a few smaller recipes, but they aren’t up to par yet. I also want to start expanding the blog into personal finance and Chicago-related topics.
- My goal is to post 3-5 new posts (minimum of 3).
I also want to get better about pinning to Pinterest consistently and driving traffic.
- My goal is to start scheduling out pins to have at least one post per day for a full week.
Lastly, I want to keep my pageviews at a minimum of 1,000 views. I’ve been hitting 1,000 views monthly since April 2025 (my first high pageview month and I wish I would’ve had Ezoic Ads set up then).
- Use Pinterest to keep 1,000 monthly pageviews minimum.
