Easy Ginger Lemon Shots Recipe (No Juicer Needed!)

These healthy, ginger lemon turmeric shots are the perfect start to any morning. They are simple to make, don’t require a juicer, and have a little spicy kick to wake you up. The addition of coconut water provides electrolytes while turmeric, ginger and lemons have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Keep reading to find out just how easy these are to prep for a busy week.

Why I Love These Shots:

I love making these ginger lemon shots as part of my weekly meal prep. It takes less than 15 minutes, is a small batch so I don’t feel like I’m wasting food. And by storing in a mason jar, it takes less space in the fridge, and I only need to wash my shot glass in the morning. I feel good when taking my ritual shot post gym and they are so much more cost effective to make at home.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 oz. coconut water (I prefer organic, no sugar added coconut water)
  • 1 large lemon, juiced (or 2 small lemons) (about 2 oz. lemon juice)
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled
  • 1/2 tsp agave
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Pinch of fresh black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Pour the coconut water into your blender cup. Add the juice of the lemon. Peel and throw your ginger into the blender cup. Add the agave, turmeric, cayenne, and black pepper. Blend for a few seconds, strain into a fine mesh strainer and enjoy!

How To Store:

These ginger lemon shots need to be kept refrigerated and can be kept for about a week. This recipe makes just over 8 oz and if you take an ounce shot a day, it will make 8 servings. The contents will settle, just shake before pouring out a shot. I wouldn’t keep these for much longer than one week since there are no preservatives.

Cost Breakdown:

  • Coconut Water: 1.25 (Aldi)
  • Lemon: 0.99 (Jewel-Osco)
  • Ginger: .40 (Jewel-Osco)
  • Agave: 0.00 (Already had at home)
  • Turmeric, cayenne, black pepper: 0.00 (Also already had at home)

As of May 2025: $2.64 for 8 servings or $0.33 per 1 oz serving! Which definitely beats the price of $3.99 per 2 fl. oz single serving offered at Jewel.

Enjoy!
